Eco Funding

Another government initiative to reduce carbon emissions in the UK is the Energy Company Obligation. Funding is live now and available to cover home improvements.

Haigh Energy believe that hundreds of households in the Wigan and Lancashire area may be eligible for fi nancial help to install energy saving measures, in particular thermal energy provisions.

There are three areas of award.

Carbon Emission Reduction Obligation (CERO) provides for Hard-to-Treat properties with solid walls or a non-standard cavity or properties that have been constructed using non-traditional methods.

Home Heating Cost reduction Obligation (HHCRO) funding is aimed at providing measures to reduce the cost of heating in domestic properties of those on lower incomes. It is primarily directed at the private housing sector for home owners of those in rented properties and this scheme covers heating repairs and replacements. In particular free boiler replacements, free loft insulation and free cavity wall insulation.

Carbon Saving Communities Obligation (CSCO) provides funding to reduce carbon emissions in areas which experience deprivation. Funding is available for both social and privately owned properties and covers various insulation measures.

Haigh Energy believe HHCRO assistance, in particular, could offer homeowners in the Wigan and Lancashire area real benefi ts and long term savings. We are happy to advise people interested in the scheme and talk through various options.
